Pink says she’s not sharing any more photos of her kids on social media.
The 39-year-old mom of two appeared on Ellen where she discussed a picture she posted of her kids during a family vacation. Internet trolls came after Pink for sharing a photo of her 2-year-old, Jameson Moon, without a diaper.
“People went as far as saying someone should call child services because he didn’t have a diaper on and how dare I and just like some of the nastiest things,” Pink told Ellen.
“I cried so hard after that because I like to share my family, it’s my proudest moment. I’m prouder of my kids than anything I’ve done in my whole life and I just won’t share them anymore, I won’t do it. I’m not posting pictures of them anymore.”
Although the mom has been known to not back down from mommy shamers, she felt like it was time to pull her kids back from the spotlight especially since her daughter is 7 now.
“Sometimes I feel like I can change their minds,” Pink said to Ellen on responding to critics on social media. “I’m all about injustice. I don’t like injustice. I don’t like how brave people are anonymously and rude, just mean, mean-spirited. So I go in. If I have time, I go in.”
The “Walk Me Home” artist also added that it’s not the criticism she’s upset about, but it’s the way people say things.
“There’s a kind way to be online. And I’m open to kindness,” Pink said. “Someone else taught me that the word ‘gypsy’ is derogatory and I’m not a person who uses derogatory language. I wrote back to them, ‘Thank you so much for being so kind and educating me. I’m editing it, I’m taking it down, and that word will never come out of my mouth again.’ There’s a way to do things.”
