Looking for a weekend getaway to unplug, recharge and reconnect with your significant other? Before the existence of megaresorts and big hotels, small inns known as bed-and-breakfasts emerged in the 1800s as stopping points for travelers such as pioneers, miners and doctors. Typically a private residence with rooms for rent, B&Bs offer comfortable accommodations along with a meal the next morning.
In today’s busy world, a bed-and-breakfast is a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle. Best of all, many inns don’t charge a “resort fee” and offer a full breakfast.
