‘SNL’ takes on Joy Behar-Meghan McCain spat; ‘The View’ hosts love it

Julian Assange and hosts of “The View” were the targets of this week’s episode of “Saturday Night Live.”

“Saturday Night Live” gave its point of − well, view − on this week’s latest “The View” altercation.

In real life: Co-host Joy Behar argued that financial aid is the best way to keep Central Americans from fleeing north: “Keep them there, happy, solvent. Give them a house, give them food. Help them, help their children, stop the crime rates (from climbing).”

When co-host Meghan McCain tried to interject, Behar said, “I listened to you, let me finish,” prompting her colleague to remind her, “Part of your job is to listen to me.”

In the “Saturday Night Live” edition, Aidy Bryant’s Meghan McCain called herself the princess of Arizona. Kate McKinnon’s Behar tries to engage with her, though the two just interrupt each other. “Well, can you let me talk because it’s actually your job to listen to me,” Bryant says.

Cecily Strong’s Abby Huntsman couldn’t help but eat popcorn amid the drama. Melissa Villaseñor’s Ana Navarro filmed it on her phone.

“We’re not gonna do this,” Leslie Jones’ Whoopi Goldberg, who tries to break up the situation by spraying from a squirt bottle, reminds the group. “This is ‘The View,’ we are five best friends with nothing in common.”

Emma Stone later joined the group as former “The View” co-host Jenny McCarthy, and then chaos ensued.

On Sunday, the skit gave Behar and McCain something they could agree on.

McCain, who had been attempting a social media break while the show is on hiatus, hopped back on to say, “this sketch is hilarious, and being parodied by @SNL is a huge pop cultural honor. – Signed, your old intern and ‘the princess of Arizona.’”

Behar agreed … sort of, saying, “Finally an actual female is playing me. Thank you Kate.”

Huntsman chimed in with, “As a human mom this was hilarious…” and Ana Navarro said she was so glad there’s finally a Latina comedian on “SNL,” that, “I don’t even mind @melissavcomedy spoofing my daily tirades.”

Apparently, Whoopi Goldberg decided to stay out of this back-and-forth as well.
