Ariana Grande released a new album and confirmed she will not be performing at the 2019 Grammy Awards amid a dispute with producer Ken Ehrlich.
Ariana Grande just shared a heartbreaking health update with her fans.
The 25-year-old singer took to her Instagram Story on Thursday, sharing a screenshot that showed a scan of her brain, including areas that appear to be affected by post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
The screenshot compared images of a “healthy” brain and one affected by PTSD. Underneath that, Grande placed a photo labeled “my brain,” which looked shockingly similar to the brain with PTSD.
Grande described the scan results as both “hilarious and terrifying,” and making it clear it was “not a joke.”
The “thank u, next” singer is currently on her “Sweetener” international tour, and this weekend, she is set to become the youngest female artist to headline at Coachella.
Fans reacted to the post on social media, sharing their emotions about the singer’s mental health journey.
One Twitter user said that Grande “experienced so many traumas in such a short period of time and she’s releasing albums, doing multiple legs of tour and i truly hope she’s taking her time to heal.”
Another person tweeted that they “literally started weeping after seeing this… PTSD is not something to be taken lightly.. she’s working so damn hard while doing the tour too and giving out songs like every month.”
Another Twitter account called Grande “an amazing and strong woman,” encouraging her to “be stronger than this illness, live your life and be happy.”
One Twitter user called it “terrifying,” and thanked Grande for “being so open with your struggles, it helps us who, too, suffer from ptsd.”
