Nicollette Sheridan is the latest “Desperate Housewives” cast member to comment on the college admissions scandal involving her co-star – though she did so without ever mentioning Felicity Huffman by name.
Huffman is one of 50 people charged in the largest-ever college admissions conspiracy prosecuted by the Justice Department. She is accused of paying $15,000 to a made-up charitable organization that then helped her daughter cheat on the SATs. Huffman also discussed the scheme in a recorded phone call with a cooperating witness, according to the investigation.
Sheridan, who played Edie Britt on the ABC drama that ran from 2004 through 2012, was asked about the scandal during an interview with “Access Live.”
“We don’t know the facts, but we can be extremely disturbed by the entitlement, the power and money that can take away from less privileged and that, to me, is disgraceful,” she said. “So, we’ll see where it really stands.”
She added, “I think there are ways to remedy a system that isn’t working, and I think has been broken for a long time,” she added. “I don’t want to get into how to fix it, but it’s troublesome. It’s troublesome because it can change the life path of a child that is deserving.”

Sheridan did not mention Huffman by name and refused to bring her “Desperate Housewives” co-stars into the conversation. When asked if they were talking about it, she lightheartedly shut it down.
“Oh, you’re just looking for gossip, aren’t you?” she said, adding, “I think everybody should be talking about it. It’s a huge problem.”
Co-star Joely Fisher, who played boss Nina Fletcher to Huffman’s Lynette Scavo on the series, offered her former co-star kind words last week on Instagram, though she admitted she was conflicted.
“I am proud of my children and who they are and how hard they have worked to make their place in the wake of #growingupfisher,” she wrote in her post. “I also understand wanting only good for your offspring and I am conflicted and I adore #felicityhuffman my prayers go out to you tonight.”
