Colin Farrell, Danny DeVito, Eva Green and Michael Keaton star in director Tom Burton’s new live-action version of “Dumbo.”
Down goes Danny DeVito.
The 74-year-old actor took a nasty tumble while promoting Tim Burton’s “Dumbo” at a press conference in Mexico City on Tuesday. DeVito went down hard after tripping on a set of stairs while making his way onstage.
“I tripped,” DeVito announced to the crowd, whose applause turned to gasps at his fall.
Several people rushed to assist DeVito. He said, “I think I’m OK” after being helped to his feet. The audience then resumed their applause as DeVito regained his composure.
The Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning actor attempted to lighten the mood, joking, “No printing that picture.”
Despite the fall, DeVito’s rep, Stan Rosenfield, told USA TODAY that, “Danny is fine.”
DeVito plays Max Medici, a circus owner who enlists former star Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell) and his children to watch over Dumbo, who is laughed out for his giant ears.
The live-action remake is set to hit theaters on March 29.
